had a loan spell at Margate, plus Carshalton Athletic and East Grinstead Town where he was on loan
the second half of last season.
Neil Cugley was delighted, saying; “I’m really pleased that Jerson has signed, I tried to get him last
season but he opted for Carshalton Athletic instead. He is an experienced player who holds the ball
up well and will be a welcome addition to the squad”.
Margate News
Daniel Returns To Gate - Goalscoring winger heads to Hartsdown Park-
permanently this time
One of Margate’s success stories last season was the form of winger Kadell
Daniel, who spent some time at the club on loan from National League
neighbours Dover Athletic. Daniel made six starts for Gate, ending up on the
winning side in four of them and drawing the other two, and scored in his last
four matches- against Corinthian-Casuals, Carshalton Athletic, AFC Hornchurch
and Bognor Regis Town. Well now he’s back- and this time it’s permanent! Gate
announced his return on their Twitter feed recently- and the former Dulwich Hamlet, Leatherhead
and Woking man promptly took to the field against Herne Bay and scored once more as his side
ran out 3-1 winners.
Margate have also announced the signing of Welling United striker Kudus Oyenuga. He had been on
loan at Haringey Borough, but the striker has been a veritable nomad for much of his career, starting
life as a Tottenham trainee (so he won’t have needed his satnav to find Coles Park) before turning
out for Bury, St Johnstone, Dundee United, Cowdenbeath, Hartlepool, Morton, Chelmsford City and
Dartford. He’ll undoubtedly find Hartsdown Park much warmer than Central Park, but perhaps Gate
can be the BetVictor Premier’s version of the Blue Brazil!
