Christmas Presents Reading Material
Now that all the decorations are down and the celebrations over I had time to look over my Christmas
presents. I had been given three books, which is unusual for me as I am not a prolific reader. Oh, and
believe it or not they were all books about football!
They were Red Card by Ken Bensinger, Rebels For The Cause by Jon Spurliing and How To Be A
Footballer by Peter Crouch. Not knowing which book to start with I drew lots and Red Card won. This
book is about how the FBI started investigations into bribery and corruption within FIFA (Federation
Internationale de Football Association) for the uninitiated. It highlights the millions of dollars that had
been hived off by greedy parasites in high positions I could not put it down and read it in two weeks
and I would recommend it to any football supporter, particularly those involved with ‘grass roots’
football clubs that scrap for every penny they can get.
I have just started reading Rebels For The Cause which is an alternative history of Arsenal Football
Club and the more seedier side of their history. I have only just started reading this but it looks a
good read and being a Gooner I am sure I will enjoy it. I am also looking forward to reading the Peter
Crouch book, on the back page he notes among other things, Plan Your Goal Celebration Wisely! Re-
member his robot like escapade when he scored his 100th Premier League goal, priceless!
Thank you for reading.
