Make The Most Of Your Time

As the country gradually sees the Covid restrictions lifted, stage by stage, and as people are receiving
their vaccinations there is a definite air of relief as people start to venture out again. From a football
perspective (grass roots football in this area started up again on April 10th), the lads could not wait to
start kicking a ball again.
It is easy to understand why there has been an increase in mental health and domestic abuse cases, par-
ticularly as more and more people are working from home. Everyone needs an outlet, a sport, hobby or
pastime whether that is knitting or rock climbing it helps to give people a sense of purpose and takes the
mind off the pressures of every day life.
If the pandemic has produced any positives at all it must be that it makes you appreciate life in general
and what we have in the ‘here and now’. Obviously nothing can bring back the one hundred and fifty thou-
sand lives that have been lost as a result of this awful virus, but human beings have a great ability to pick
themselves up and look to the future. You just have to listen to the interviews with front line workers to
get inspiration from their never say die attitude,
So, whatever you do as a pastime, enjoy the moment and hopefully this time next year this crisis will be a
distant memory.
